Home Nations
Job Description: Coach of the full time British Home Nations Alpine Development Team.
Responsible to: The Board of Snowsport England through the Home Nations Head Coach and his line management
Main Objectives: To coach full time members of the Alpine Development Team. Deliver all aspects of a training and race programme that will develop each of our athletes to their full potential in order for them to move along the performance pathway.
Salary £24 000 pro rata (including performance related bonus)
Location Although the organisation is based in Halesowen England. the delivery of the programme will be dependent on the location of the camps.
Work Programme Negotiable - to be commensurate with the athletes race/training programme.

Personal Specifications
Essential
- To be fluent in written and spoken English
- To be a dynamic, enthusiastic, self starter able to work without direct supervision but reporting to line manager
- To be able to design and work to a programme suitable for aspiring young ski athletes
- To have a good understanding of health, fitness diet and the motivation of team athletes
- To be able to set and maintain the highest performance standards for athletes
- To have experience of coaching to National Ski Team level
- To have appropriate coaching qualifications.
- To have budgeting experience and confident of working to budgets
- To have good interpersonal skills in order to communicate clearly and effectively with athletes and their parents and a range of other people involved in the successful running of the Team
- To have a full Driving licence and experience of driving minibus’s
- To have a enhanced CRB check
- To have a current First Aid qualification
Desirable
- To have APC3 (CSCF high performance coach),
- To have BASI (ISTD)
- To be able to tutor a range of Coaching Courses
- Fluent in more than 1 language
Home Nations Development Alpine Ski Team Responsibilities
· To design and implement a high performance Alpine race training programme in Downhill, Super G, GS and Slalom The team are male athletes J2 and Senior (age18-22)
· To design and implement an appropriate race programme through which the athletes will reach their potential
· To design and implement a dryland training programme which is of the highest standard, appropriate to the needs of our athletes and is concordant with the objectives of Snowsport England
· Maintaining high personal performance standards and a public persona which is commensurate with that expected of a International Coach.
· To support the athletes in setting their individual development programmes and in monitoring their performance.
· The preparation and management of the operational squad budget according to ASMC protocol
· To be abreast of safety regulation, legislation and guidelines relating to the care of young people and to see that the Team’s activities are within these boundaries
· To ensure that squad athletes maintain the high standards of behaviour and responsibility as set out in Snowsport England’s Code of Conduct
· To maintain good communications with the athletes, their parents and the wider community.
· To ensure that complete information is presented to ASC and ASMC in relation to the squad budget and expenditure.
