British Freestyle Athlete Ends An 11 Year Drought. 8th March 2007 Promising Aerials athlete Harry Gillam has brought new hope to the next generation of Freestyle stars by competing on the Europa cup circuit, the first athlete to do so in 11 years.
Aerials remains Britain’s most successful Snowsports discipline since Richard Cobbing, who was 2nd at the 1993 World Championships.
Harry (15) is a successful trampolinist and started with the British Aerials Training squad in 2005. Harry has been regularly training in Switzerland, and qualified for snow competitions in his first season. Harry achieved a personal best at the event in Meiringen-Hasliberg (SUI) finishing 8th and 15th
Commenting on his the start of his international career Harry said:
‘It is great that British Aerials are back, the support from all the other Nations athletes has been amazing both in the training and the competitions. Thanks to all my coaches and sponsors for helping making this year happen for me. I feel really excited about the challenges of jumping doubles next season.’ |
