Club Support
Setting up and running a club requires the management of a number of different areas to a high standard as well as constantly trying to progress forward, all of which is a huge challenge.
However we all know in life that the more support we have the harder it is to be pushed over and the more we are likely to succeed. This is no different when looking at the running of your club.
There are two areas of support that your club can draw upon; From inside and from outside the club.
Inside Support;
Your membership is the most important support structure you have, without it you wouldn’t even have a club. But have you ever thought about your membership as a support structure full of different skills?
Every single one of your members has their own and individual skills set; which could be drawn on to benefit the club. Looking at setting up a club website? you should be thinking do we have a member who is a web designer or experience managing web pages. The answer is more then likely yes.
The majority of clubs are very good at using this resource with some of your members volunteering. Have a look at the volunteering section of this website to see how you can improve your use of this very valuable resource, and pull out those hidden gems.
Outside Support;
Your club is not alone when it comes to developing or trying to get more people into sport. It is important that you link up with your local Sports Development Network to be able to thrive and take advantage of new opportunities and to bring in expertises that you may not have in your membership.
