Daniel started skiing at the age of 3, at Emmetten Switzerland. He joined the village ski team when he was 6 years old. From 8 years on he started to race in local events from where he was selected to the county team aged 11. Three years ago he was selected to the Junior Team of the County of Nidwalden and is still training with them if he’s not training with the English Team or working. He races under the British flag in FIS races.
Performance History:
British Races: 2008: English Championship: Champion in Slalom Junior I and Overall Mens Champion
British Championships Junior 1: 3rd in GS, 4th in DH, 4th in SG
2007: British Junior Championship: Giant Slalom 16th
BARSC Championship: Champion in SL, 2nd GS 2006: British Childrens Championship: 7th in SL, 16th in GS
Swiss Races:
Participation Migros Grand Prix Final: 2000 Nendaz, 2002 St. Moritz
County Championship 2005: 3rd place
Participation Swiss Junior Championship in 2006.
Future Goals:
I would like to get my FIS Points below 100 this season and remain in the Alpine Ski Team with part time training until I’ll have finished my apprenticeship in 2011. After this I will put all my energy in full time ski training. I hope to be on the Olympic Team one day and ski in Europa and World Cup.
