UK Snowsport logoMany skiers and snowboarders love the sport so much that they can't resist trying to persuade others to take up the sport, very often getting involved in a little teaching themselves. Teaching people to ski and snowboard is very rewarding and helps to improve your performance as well. Centres and ski clubs are always looking out for instructors and are keen to assist their development.

Snowsport England manages and delivers the United Kingdom Snowsports (UKSS) Coach Awards Scheme in England and provides a training and qualification programme for aspiring Alpine and Snowboard instructors and coaches wishing to work with skiers throughout the UK through clubs, ski facilities and upon an individual basis. The courses are recognised throughout the UK.

Snowsport England also delivers it’s own Coaching Award Scheme for aspiring instructors and coaches in Cross Country skiing, Roller skiing and Telemark skiing.  These awards are based on the UKSS Alpine model and are the premier Nordic development awards in the UK.

Starting up in the UKSS Coach Awards Scheme, involves attending a two day Level 1 Instructor Training Course and then registering with the Snowsport England Coaching Scheme.  The SSE Coaching Award Scheme for Cross Country, Roller Ski and Telemark follows a similar pathway.  See the links below for further details.
