Mike Barker is appointed as Head Coach of the England Alpine Ski Team

Mike will take up the post on the 1^st May 2008. Mike is in his 3^rd season with the England Team and was made Assistant Head Coach last October. During this time he has demonstrated his ability to plan and organise camps for the team as well as coach the athletes.

Tim Fawke the Head of Operations and Development said “I am pleased Mike has been appointed Head Coach as this will provide continuity for the athletes on the team and help them develop as athletes for the future. Mike is fully aware of how the team works and can focus his energy on developing the programme further. I have full confidence that Mike will do a great job “

Snowsport England runs the England Alpine Team programme which provides a comprehensive training programme for athletes who are still in full time education. The aim of the programme is to develop & support the athletes progression on the performance pathway onto the British Team.
