Jo Ryding
  • NAME- Jo Ryding

  • DATE OF BIRTH- 28.07.1988

  • YEARS ON TEAM 4

  • PLACE OF RESIDENCE- Bretherton, Lancashire

  • SKIING HISTORY – Started skiing when I was 4 with my grandparents in Samoens, French Alps. I then went on to join the local Dry Slope Ski Club at Pendle where my dad became the coach. After many family skiing holidays in France I became interested in training and racing on snow, joined Kandahar Ski Club and was selected to the England Ski Team with Tim Fawke as my coach. I was on the GB team at the European Youth Olympics in 2005 and continued onto the Home Nations Development Full Time Team a couple of years later. In a downhill race in Innerkremms I crashed near the end and caused sever damage to my right knee. 18 months and 4 operations later I am on my way to recovery. I am really looking forward to being allowed to ski again in April 2009
