Midlands Telemark Festival
29th June 2007

Midlands “on snow” Telemark Skiing Festival

at the Snowdome,

Tamworth.

on Saturday and Sunday, 11th & 12th August 09:00 - 17:00hrs.

The Snowdome, Tamworth and Snowsport England are pleased to announce the first Midlands “on snow” telemark skiing festival. This event is open to all skiers with alpine or telemark experience – and caters for all ability levels from complete beginners through to competent telemarkers.

The weekend event will cover the full range of freeheel skiing techniques (alpine and telemark) from the complete basics through to short radius turns and will suit those wishing to improve their skill level before exploring the back country next season. Coaching and instruction on both days (a total of 14 hours) will be organised by Snowsport England, Telemark Club Coach, Matt Higginson.

The day will offer you the opportunity to ski with plenty of like minded freeheel skiers, share information about resorts and equipment as well as enjoy the après ski in the Aspens Bar and balcony overlooking the main slope.

With prizes for best fancy dress and best “lurk” action as well as the opportunity to put your uphill skills to the test, the event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to free your heel and drop a knee!!!

Venue: Tamworth Snowdome

Prices; (if booked in advance):

One day £65

(£58 slope fee, £7 instruction fee)

Both days £110

(£100 slope fee, £10 instruction fee)

The Snowdome couldn't be easier to find, just 5 minutes from Junction 10 of the M42, so it's right on the motorway network, and only one and a half hours from North London, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds.

To register for the event please contact Matt on 07813268124 or info@telemark-skiing.co.uk

For those looking for accommodation OR those wanting to hire telemark skiing equipment for the weekend event please contact Matt on 07813268124 or info@telemark-skiing.co.uk ASAP.
