NEW AGE GROUPS AGREED
Following the FIS decision to change the FIS age groups with effect from the start of the 2012/13 competition year, there has been considerable discussion on the implication for British races.
A meeting was held during the English Alpine Championships at Bormio last week between representatives of Snowsport England, Snowsport Scotland, Snowsport Wales, the BARTS Seeder and the Chairman of the BSS TD Forum.
The following has been agreed for immediate implementation.

2004, 2003 U10 Races not seeded
2002, 2001 U12 BARTS
2000, 1999 U14 BARTS
1998, 1997 U16 BARTS
1996, 1995 U18 BARTS
1994, 1993, 1992 U21 BARTS
*1991 – 1983 SEN BARTS
*1982 and earlier MAS BARTS
* Previous announcement wrongly included Masters in the age group adjustment
This agreement is for the 2012 season only.
Further discussions will be held to agree the age groups for alpine snow races (BASS) next winter and for BARTS races in 2013.
