Geoff ParsonsDirector |
|
As a two time Olympian, British Record holder, Commonwealth and European medallist in High Jump, Geoff has a strong performance background in sport. He has also served in a number of other areas over the last 15 years, currently an observer on the National Anti-Doping Panel and also a specialist member and arbitrator for Sports Resolutions. In the past Geoff has served as Non-Executive Director terms on the CCPR (now the Sport and Recreation Alliance), UK Competitors, Performance Athlete Services and the National Education Business Partnership Network. I have a corporate background, having spent 7 years working for a major British FTSE 100 company, after having studied engineering at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College. Politically active in both local and national politics, Geoff has served as a Councillor and had one unsuccessful Parliamentary run. As an entrepreneur, my group of businesses is now some 15 years old and encompasses an eclectic mix ranging from young persons education, through to Intellectual Property Management and Innovation. Geoff remains passionate about sport, with particular interest in the treatment and education of athletes, NGB and IF governance and transparency and remains active playing a decent standard table tennis and golf…never really sure whether decent or not. Married to an Olympic wife (Whitewater Canoe Slalom) Geoff is also kept busy with two young daughters.
