Role – To coordinate the Board and matters relating to the Board, support the CEO in managing the organisation, approval of all matters relating to SSE. Attending events and meetings throughout England. Liaising with Chairs of Snowsport Wales, Snowsport Scotland together with other bodies and organisations relating to Snow Sports and Governing bodies. |

Jemima Barnes - Director |
|
Jemima joined the board in November 2010. She has been an alpine competitor for the past 14 years competing in FIS, dryslope and more recently indoor races. She also qualified as a coach in 2004 and has spent time coaching university ski racers since then. She is currently working towards a PhD at Loughborough University which is focused on children’s experiences in physical education. She is also a sport psychologist trainee having completed an MSc in the Psychology of Sport and Exercise in 2009.
Jemima’s role on the board is to provide a stronger voice for athletes and young people, along with providing support and help with coaching development. Jemima is also interested in volunteer development and recruitment and is interested in developing this area within Snowsport England.
You are likely to see Jemima at Snowsport England races this summer, so please feel free to introduce yourself to her and ask any Snowsport England related questions you might have! |

Jeremy Eaton - Director |

Jeremy joined the board in 2011, bringing 20 years of business management and communication skills. He founded multi-award winning marketing consultancy Vital Marketing in 1994. He has spent the last 18 years developing and leading the business and creating marketing campaigns and communications strategies for both UK and global businesses. |

Daniel Hardie - Director |
|
Dan joined the board in November 2010 after being out of the sport for some ten years. He was an alpine competitor competing for GB at FIS and Nor-Am levels, spending seasons in North America and Europe, and then moved into coaching and qualified as an ESC Coach in 1994. He was an assistant coach with the England Alpine Team from 1993 - 1999, working with the National Coach on both development and excellence programmes. During this time he also graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University; Crewe & Alsager Faculty where he gained a degree in Physical Education, Sport Science and Business.
After University, he has worked predominantly in both commercial and high performance sport; working at British Gymnastics, Leicester Tigers, Coventry RFC and Northants Cricket. He also ran his own company for six years, where part of the time he worked with other former GB performers raising funds for the British Team and managing the UK and World Snow Awards. He now works with Performance Impact and National Governing Bodies developing programmes and consulting on sales and marketing processes.
Dan is keen to see SSE develop commercially so that elite programmes in all disciplines can be developed, and now heads our Commercial Steering Group, developing the Strategic, Commercial, and Communications planning with other board members and the CEO. Other activities include liaison with the Freestyle Key Committee and Southern Region to help, and improve communications. |

Nigel Matthews - Director |

Karen Richardson - Director |
|
Karen was appointed to the board three years ago. Karen is a qualified accountant running her own private practice in the north west of England with clients throughout the UK. Karen is able to use her financial expertise to assist SSE with financial matters and also her management and general business experience in non-financial matters like employment, business development and growth. Karen became involved with SSE through her two sons' involvement in Alpine skiing. |
