Top County Awards For English Skier

After having spent 7 weeks over the summer training in the US, current no1 female moguls skier Ellie Koyander , arrived home find that whilst she had been practising her backflips and skiing the steep bumps at Mount Hood…….she had won two sports awards!

Based on her seasons results where amongst other titles she became French Junior Moguls Champion, Australian Junior Moguls Champion and represented Great Britain at the Junior World Championships, Ellie was presented with the Derbyshire Dales Young Sportswoman of the Year Award ! She also received an outstanding athlete award from the Derbyshire School Sports Association in their annual Sports Awards the previous week.

Still only 15, Ellie’s will be one of the most youngest moguls skiers on the FIS Europa Cup circuit which starts with four races in Italy in January 2007. Ellie who is a BOA Generation 2010 athlete is on programme with her development towards qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics and she hopes that the recent Awards will help secure sponsorship.
