Child Protection Training

Snowsport England is supporting the implementation of the Child Protection Policy though the training of all personnel involved in positions of trust.

You can locate a list of minimum training and awareness requirements for those working with children and vulnerable adults in the Downloads Area.

In 2006 all welfare officers are receiving training and in 2007 the training will be rolled out to members of the coaching scheme and officials.

If you are involved in working with children or vulnerable adults you need to access the Good Practice and Child Protection Course. These courses can be accessed locally, the first point of contact should be your local authority or County Sports Partnership.

Welfare officers will also need to attend the 'Time to Listen Training'. This training is specific to their role and will prepare them for their role within the club.

For information and dates please contact Head office.

Online Learning System

An online learning system has been designed to familiarise members with the Child Protection Policy and its application.

The system is not designed to replace the Time to Listen training or the Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop, it is designed to work in conjunction with these courses and act as a support mechanism for members, helping them become familiar with the policy. If you are a coach, instructor, club, member, parent or any other individual working with children in Snowsports you should complete the training to raise your awareness of Child Safeguarding and Welfare.
