Updated Child Protection Policy 20th December 2006 Snowsport England has updated the Child Protection policy Key amendments are:
1. The PIDA (Public Interest Disclosure Act) has been included in the 'legal and procedural framework' list, and is mentioned in the section on whistle-blowing.
2. Bullying has been afforded a higher profile as a form of abuse - the wording is the same, but it has been included as a category under the heading 'types of abuse'.
3. There have been several changes to definitions and terminology
4. New - FAQs about CRB's
5. You will note from the Safe Events guide (Appx 9) that event organisers are now obliged to appoint a CW Co-ordinator at all events where under 18s (or vulnerable adults) are involved. This is a requirement as from January 2007, and is clearly indicated as such in this new version of the CPP.
This replaces all previous versions.
Hard copies of the updated Child Proteciton Policy will be sent to club welfare officers in February to enable clubs to renew membership for 2007. |
