Snowsport England are seeking to appoint a part time DBS administrator and cover for our Safeguarding Lead when required.
In this role, you will become an essential part of the team, undertaking various administrative duties. This includes managing DBS disclosure applications. Your role will involve meticulous data management, ensuring administrative practices align with the Snowsport England Disclosure and Barring Service Policy and handling any adverse DBS disclosures professionally and confidentially. This role requires you to work closely with the Snowsport England Designated Safeguarding Lead and to provide safeguarding cover when they are on annual leave.

This will involve the processing of DBS disclosures and status update checks for:
– All Snowsport England staff and volunteers recruited by Snowsport England who require a DBS
– All Snowsport England coaching scheme members requiring a DBS
– All trainee instructors and coaches undertaking a Snowsport England coaching qualification
– All Club Welfare Officers, house parents, coaches and other relevant roles in Affiliated Clubs, Academies and Centres

Location -Home based
Contract type – Permanent – 10 hours per week
Salary – £11.27 per hour

Job Description

 

Responsible to: Managing Director (Andy Meldrum)

Responsible for: All activities staff; snow school, tubing and biking

Job purpose:  

  • Ensure smooth running of the snow school
  • Manage scheduling of staff to meet demand
  • Recruit, train and manage primarily snow school staff
  • Conduct snowsports lessons
  • Prepare rental equipment for customers
  • Ensure customers have a great experience

 

Primary duties: 

  • Managing staff on a day to day basis
  • Work weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings as required
  • Maintain a healthy and safe workplace
  • Recording staff timesheets and takings / cashing up
  • Standing in for the Rentals Manager as needed
  • Taking customer bookings over the phone, email and in person
  • Assisting at events – planning and running
  • Working on the introduction of additional activities
  • Marketing; social media, posters, videos
  • Conducting ski and snowboard lessons
  • Equipping customers with ski and snowboard equipment
  • Ensure all pre-booked equipment is set up the day before
  • Undertake basic maintenance and repair of rental equipment

Additional duties:

  • Using ski servicing machine (Wintersteiger)
  • Basic maintenance and cleaning as needed

Notes:

This is not an exhaustive list and may be adjusted periodically after review and consultation. You will be expected to carry out any reasonable duties, including working as a lift operator, in the café, or other tasks needed by the business which may be requested from time to time.

Hours may vary depending on business levels, but will be an average of 40 hours.

SNOWSPORT TORFAEN – Vacancies for Ski & Board Instructors and Coaches

Formerly known as Pontypool Ski Slope, in Torfaen, South Wales. The Snowsport centre is under new management and we are extending our learning to ski and board programmes. This has created vacancies for ski instructors and coaches in our lesson, coaching and performance programmes. There are full and part time roles both of which are paid at £20 per hour. On going training is provided towards higher levels of qualifications at no cost, including first aid and other required CPD courses.

Snowsport England is striving to inspire participation in snowsport at every level. A key priority for us is to increase opportunities for more people to participate in snowsport in fun and safe ways, to enable both new and existing participants to have positive experiences.  We work in partnership with Sport England and align with their ‘Uniting the Movement’ strategy. Recognised as the National Governing Body for snowsport in England, we help people learn how to ski or board, enjoy the snowsports safely, and compete in all its disciplines.

At its heart, Snowsport England is a membership organisation dedicated to supporting its clubs and members to develop and succeed. It maintains the laws of the sport and runs national events which are open to all competing members. It also operates a comprehensive range of qualification and education programmes for teachers, coaches and officials,

The Roles

Snowsport England seeks one or two Non-Executive Directors who will join a high calibre, engaged and passionate Board. They will provide inclusive and inspirational leadership and guidance to the Board of the English National Governing Body for snowsport.

Snowsport England is seeking to appoint an Interim Chief Executive Officer. 

The Interim Chief Executive Officer will provide exceptional leadership and management to achieve the organisation’s purpose, vision, strategic priorities, and values, leading the team to ensure high levels of stakeholder engagement with members, affiliated clubs, and external partners. 

Snowsport England is the National governing body for Snowsport and we have the responsibility for the development of Snowsports in England. We are looking to build a team to help deliver our new strategy and to deliver our vision of Inspiring participation in Snowsport at Every level.

Location -Home based – some travel may be required
Contract type – Minimum 4 month salary, 2-3 days per week
Salary -Minimum £50,000 pro rata, per annum depending on experience
Closing date –14th June 2023
