COVID UPDATE

The Organising Committee have been continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and have today reluctantly come to the decision to cancel the 2021 English Alpine Championships. In reaching this decision we have considered not only the health and safety of the athletes taking part, but also that of the officials who run the event, and the many coaches and supporters involved.

We’re all looking forward to coming back bigger and better in 2022! Race dates for 2022 will be Sunday 20th – Friday 25th February.

What, when, where?

The English Alpine Championships is Snowsport England’s premier Alpine event and is the biggest English week of winter ski racing.

Hundreds of the UK’s best skiers, along with their families, head to Bormio in Italy every year to compete – from children as young as eight right through to senior athletes.

The event begins with an Opening Parade on Saturday afternoon, with races taking place from Sunday through to Friday. The 2022 event will open on Saturday 19th February and close with the last race on Friday 25th.

The Championships act as a gateway for future Alpine world champions and Olympic stars – World Cup Alpine ski racer Dave Ryding, started his competitive career at the English Alpine Championships!

Opening Parade

The parade to open the 25th English Alpine Championships will be on Saturday 19th February 2022 and will start on Via Roma. There will be a marching band which will follow through the streets to the town square. We will provide banners for each club and these can be collected at the start point. Please get to the start at 17.45. Drinks will be provided in the square. EVERYONE IS WELCOME
