Snowsport England are the National Governing Body for Snowsport in England. Our vision is Inspiring participation in Snowsport at every Level.

SE are seeking to appoint a Chair to lead the organisation to deliver its vision and mission by providing inclusive leadership to the organisation and Board. At this time of significant change, the Chair will be required to hold the Board to account for SE’s vision and mission, providing inclusive leadership to the Board, ensuring that each Board member fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of SE.

The Chair will also support and, where appropriate, challenge the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works together to achieve agreed objectives. They will act as an ambassador and the public face of SE and help to engage with the membership in partnership with the Chief Executive.

In addition, the Chair will be required to ensure that SE meets the governance requirements for compliance with the mandatory Code for Sports Governance.

Terms of Appointment

The role is unremunerated with travel and accommodation expenses paid in accordance with Snowsport England’s policy. The total time commitment is around three days per month, inclusive of six Board meetings per year. The majority of Board meetings are to be held virtually, when attended in person the location will be either at the office in Loughborough, Leicestershire and occasionally held in other locations nationwide as agreed in advance. The length of the appointment is for three years, with the possibility of extending for a further three-year term. Candidates should be UK-based.
