Becoming a snowsport coach or instructor is extremely fulfilling; whether it’s passing on your passion of snowsport to beginners or progressing an athlete, we deliver high quality education and development for coaching and instructing in snowsport at all levels.

Snowsport England is recognised by Sport England and the International Federation of Snowsport Instructors as the awarding body for snowsport coaching and teaching within England. We offer a variety of qualifications as part of our coaching scheme.

Getting started as an instructor or coach is simple and we offer two separate licencing award pathways for coaches and instructors: development and performance.

Performance Pathway

For those looking to work with budding competitive skiers. It encompasses the United Kingdom Coaching Pathway (UKCP) – a combined project between GB Snowsport, Snowsport Scotland, Snowsport England and Snowsport Wales.

Development Pathway

Caters for those interested in Instructor Development (UKSS) courses. Develop a career within recreational skiing and snowboarding – operating within clubs, organisations and ski centres working with complete beginners through to expert and beyond.

Snowsport England has operated a trusted coach licencing system for over 30 years to help manage the quality coaching procedures. Click here to find out the requirements needed to practice as a snowsport coach.

Snowlife Awards

Nationally recognised awards for skiing and snowboarding which are open to everyone from beginners to experts. These awards are developed by UK governing bodies and the British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI).

As a member of the international snowsport community, UK Snowsports welcomes coaches, leaders and instructors holding qualifications issued by non UK Snowsports Member Awarding Bodies.
