For everyone who attended and was part of the English Alpine Championships in Bormio last week, once again, it was a fantastic event with a record number of participants.
As you may be aware, an outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid 19) has, since our return, started affecting regions of Northern Italy that includes Bormio.
To date, we have no reports of any symptoms amongst those who attended and / or participated in the English Alpine Championships. However, Snowsport England is monitoring the latest government advice concerning recent travel to Northern Italy, including guidance from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Department of Health & Social Care and Public Health England (PHE).
As you will appreciate, this advice is subject to change. However, the current advice is that anyone who has recently visited Northern Italy, meaning the area north of Pisa (which includes Bormio), should, if they develop any flu like symptoms, self-isolate for 14 days and call 111 immediately. Please be alert to any emerging symptoms and if in any doubt call 111.
We have included a link to more information from the NHS about the symptoms of Coronavirus:

We have also included a link to the government guidelines on self isolation:
Whilst we reiterate that no cases have been identified amongst those who travelled to Bormio, the health of individual competitors, volunteers and families are obviously of the highest priority.
