GBS and the Home nations Snowsports governing bodies are looking for instructors and coaches to deliver Para Snowboard training sessions at the indoor snow venues around the UK.

Para Snowboarding is a relatively new sport but the UK has been successful since it came onto the world stage with two World Cup Crystal Globe overall winners and a medal at the 2022 Paralympic Games. We are looking to help grow the grass roots of that sport by creating a community through training events and competitions that supports all snowboarders whatever their disability.

The Para Snowboard Progression sessions are monthly training session where snowboarders with disabilities can come and improve their snowboarding in a supportive environment and meet other para snowboarders. They are aimed at snowboarders who can already link their turns and use the main slope of their local venue without assistance. They are 2-3 hours long and look at all aspects of snowboarding from general technique to freestyle to moguls. They are also a spring board for those that want to go on and compete as Para Snowboarders in boardercross or banked slalom events.

We are looking for instructors or coaches to deliver one of these sessions a month throughout the year at the following locations across the UK:

Chill Factore, Manchester

SnoZone, Castleford

The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead/SnoZone, Milton Keynes

There is the potential for successful applicants to accompany future para snowboarders to training camps in the UK and Europe as part of either the National Governing Bodies Training Squad or the GB Snowsports Development team.

Applicants should have a valid instructors licence equivalent to a BASI Snowboard level 2, or a UK Snowsport L2 Coaching qualification. Other characteristics in a candidate that would be appealing, but not a requirement, would be: adaptive snowboard qualifications and/or experience racing boardercross or banked slalom.
