Guidance for Clubs and Facilities during the period of National Mourning

The government has published National Mourning Guidance following the death of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. You can read it here

There is no formal obligation for clubs to postpone or cancel events between now and the State Funeral.

We suggest that any events scheduled for the day of the state funeral, should be postponed. However, there is no obligation to do so, and this is entirely at the discretion of individual clubs. If events are planned for the day of the State Funeral and continue, clubs may want to adjust the event timings, so they do not clash with the timings of the funeral service and associated processions.

As a mark of respect, event organisers may wish to hold a period of silence at the start of events, and athletes may wish to wear black armbands or show respect in other ways.
