We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dominic McGonigal as Chair of the Board at Snowsport England.
Dominic brings a wealth of experience as a chair and director from a wide range of industries in both the commercial and public sector.
Dominic is also a composer, entrepreneur and director. He has enjoyed a successful career in the creative industries, improving rights for actors, musicians and publishers and increasing revenue from royalties. He is chair of C8 Associates, JiveBird and Governors for Schools. For many years, he was also a trustee director of Nacro, helping to transform services and win national contracts for housing and education. He enjoys working with clubs, academies, regions, facilities, as well as the many volunteers and businesses in the snowsport world.
On starting his role with Snowsport England Dominic said “Snowsport England has an extraordinary membership of athletes, coaches, volunteers and parents. I am looking forward to seeing our athletes progress and sharing our love for the sport so we entice more people into the wonderful world of snowsports. We are a small sport in terms of numbers but I think we could be bigger. I want to work closely with clubs, academies, regions, facilities, as well as the many volunteers and businesses in the snowsport world to get more people into the sport and to create a joined up pathway for those who want to go to the highest level. I love seeing racers I have coached standing on a podium. For me the big driver is seeing people get into the sport and progress, sometimes to the highest level.”
When asked what he would welcome most from Snowsport England members, his message is simple “Talk to me”.
As Chair, Dominic will represent Snowsport England on the GB Snowsport Board to connect the pathway for athletes to elite level.
We are very enthusiastic about the future with Dominic at the helm of our Board and are very much looking forward to benefitting from his passion and expertise to help us with our mission – Inspiring participation at every level.
