Snowsport England is excited to announce that we are launching a new membership platform today, Thursday 20th May. Designed with the needs of our members at its heart, we have created an easy-to-use and accessible hub for our membership.
Launched in partnership with Sport:80, this new platform has been created to make it easier for you to manage your membership with Snowsport England and to communicate easily with us. It covers everything from course bookings, certifications, licensing, DBS checks, First Aid, competition entries and access to your exclusive membership benefits.
This is part of our long-term strategy to better connect the sport with our members. In the coming months, we will be rolling out many more new features, including tools for you to better interact with Snowsport England affiliated clubs.
The Sport:80 system is the company’s flagship portal, already in use by more than 40 sports governing bodies worldwide.
The system has been specifically configured to Snowsport England’s strategic and operational needs, with a focus of providing the best experience for the membership.
The platform will include the following functionality:
- Membership Registration
- Event Registration
- Club Registration
- Instructing, coaching, leading qualifications and licencing
- DBS applications
- Donations
- Member Support
- Automated Emails and Email Marketing
Snowsport England CEO, Tim Fawke, said: “One of our major goals as an organisation is member satisfaction – we want to be helpful, relevant and there for our members and I believe this membership system will help us stay connected.
We aspire to lead the sport forward through innovation, and the launch of this platform will help us towards developing the organisation and the sport through digital technology.
The Sport:80 system will enable our members to access their information quickly and in a user-friendly way. It will also help our small admin team to deal with enquiries in a quick and efficient manner.”
Gary Hargraves, Chief Executive Officer, Sport:80, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Snowsport England to the Sport:80 community; they are an organisation that share our ideals, particularly surrounding innovation and the use of technology to enable the growth of sport.”
Q&As
Will I have to create a new account on the Platform?
We have been working with Sport:80 to transfer all existing member data over to the new Platform. This means that when we go live, you will be able to access an account with your membership information. We will send you an email once the platform has launched that includes a link which allows you to set a password for your account. You will then be able to log in using your email address and password.
How do I know if my account exists in the new Platform?
If you have been in the past, or are currently a member of Snowsport England, your information will be transferred over to the new Platform. We have worked with Sport:80 to make sure measures are in place to ensure that we minimise the duplication of accounts so members can access their account with their historical information. If you attempt to sign up to the new Platform and your record already exists, you will see a warning message. Please get in contact when you see this message and we can manually give you access to your account.
Will I keep my membership number?
Yes, you will keep your same membership number from the previous system.
What if I think the information you have on file for me is incorrect?
If you believe we do not have your most up to date information (most importantly your email address as this will become your username) please get in touch as soon as possible. Please do this by contacting the Snowsport England office on 01509 232323 or by emailing info@snowsportengland.org.uk
Will all my qualifications and licence information still be listed?
All your qualifications and licencing information will still be available. We are refreshing/ relaunching our instructing and coaching scheme in June as we are bringing all our qualifications under the UK Snowsports banner with Snowsport Scotland and Snowsport Wales. As part of this, the names for the qualifications have changed. This will not impact on what the remit of each award allows you to do. For full details of the name changes please Click Here
We have updated the names of qualifications to bring all the Home Nations into alignment, together as part of the refresh of qualifications and to move all our awards under UK Snowsports in partnership with Snowsport Scotland and Snowsport Wales.
How will I purchase or renew my membership?
Once your membership is up for renewal, you can log in to the Platform using your log in details (email address and the password you set). You can then renew your membership by selecting the ‘membership’ tab in your account, clicking ‘renew’, completing the renewal form and then using the checkout feature to pay online.
How are online payments made?
The new Platform will use an integrated payment system, provided by one of the world’s most trusted online payment providers, Stripe. To pay online, all you will have to do is enter your name, email address and postal address, and then your credit or debit card details. Please be aware that the card you use must be registered to the same address entered in the checkout process (this is an additional security feature provided by Stripe).
How will I purchase multiple memberships for my family members?
You will be able to manage and purchase/renew multiple membership from one account in the new Platform. This is a great feature for parents or coaches that are managing multiple youth athletes for example. When transferring existing membership information over to the new Platform, we will do our best to connect the dots and make sure parents have access to their children’s memberships. However, in some case we might not be able to do this due to insufficient information and you will be required to contact the office to request access to your child’s account(s).
If I am a Chair or Secretary at a club, will I have access to my club account?
Yes, we will transfer over all club information. If your details are associated with a club in an administrator or management position, you will have access to this club and be able to renew your affiliation, among other features.
If you have any further questions or queries relating to the launch of the new online platform, please get in touch by calling 01509 232323 or by emailing info@snowsportengland.org.uk
