110 happy skiers from 22 clubs competed in Stoke Ski Centre’s post lockdown slalom on 29th August 2020 signalling the way forward for regions and  clubs to return to their slopes for training and races  in a safe as possible way for all concerned.

The event was a great success supported by Ski Racing Supplies, Ski Bartlett and Racer Ready and all attendees were so pleased to be back on the slope participating in our sport. Even without the ability to socialise fully as we normally do all parents and skiers spoken to are looking forward to further opportunities to be on the slopes again.

Snowsport England’s Alpine Committee  is determined to support the return of snowsport activities  as soon as possible and is planning a full calendar of races in 2021 with introductory seeded races later this year across the country with whatever Covid-19 restrictions are required. Invitations for the 2021 race calendar to slopes and clubs will be issued shortly.

Neil Mcquoid of Racer Ready www.racer-ready.co.uk has posted on his website two excellent pre and post articles on the event at Stoke Centre which you can refer to for fuller details together with links to the race itself. Please take a look to get the inside story !!
