This past Sunday saw the first Snowsport England Nordic Development day in collaboration with GB Snowsport and BNDS. Following on from the GB Snowsport Nordic Recruitment programme in the spring a small group of athletes have been invited to train alongside BNDS Squad members on a regular basis with coach Jordan Andrews.

The first session took place at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, a big thank you to the London Region Club for allowing the track share.

In the morning the athletes were working on skate technique and trying to tidy up their skills. The athletes then moved on to a “classic masterclass” before taking part in a 3km classic time trial. Everyone enjoyed the racing and it was great to see the team spirit and positivity on display from everyone involved. The session ended with more skating, this time with a focus on agility and some games to end the session in a fun way.

With a successful first session completed, we look forward to the next session in December and then building and developing the programme in 2022. A huge thank you to Jordan Andrews for the organisation and coaching and well done to all of the athletes for their efforts during the session.
