The British Ski and Snowboard National Foundation (BSSNF), is a charity that provides essential pathways into Snowsport; ensuring financial barriers, disability and access do not prevent opportunities for all to benefit from the exhilarating power of Snowsport.
By working in collaboration, we can accelerate performance journeys for young talented athletes, as well as providing Snowsport access to all, through supporting key pathway programs, grassroots initiatives, and individual athlete grants.
As we unite our organisations, we will be able to deliver campaigns that provide wide impact, opportunity, and access to Snowsport for all. This partnership has already seen what we can achieve together. Project Balance is just one example of this:
Project Balance, which launched in May, was devised as a means of creating new connections between young people in urban environments and Britain’s Snowsport scene in the year ahead of the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing. Offering tailored skateboarding lessons that draw on links between skateboarding and snowboarding, the project aimed to offer young people an introduction to transferable skills that can be put into place in education and in their wider lives.
Britain’s top snowboarding talent also took time out to join up with young people from Westminster Academy as part of a special event to mark the midpoint of the Project Balance initiative. As well as sharing their own tips and advice with the youngsters involved, the athletes also spoke about British hopes ahead of the winter season and the responsibility the sport has to support young people across the country as the nation continues its recovery from the impacts of the covid-19 pandemic.
Together we can make a difference.
