Update on Coronavirus following the English Alpine Championships
The English Alpine Championships in Bormio concluded 10 days ago and to date we have not received any notification of any participant or attendee having contracted Coronavirus (Covid 19). We will continue to monitor this closely and will advise should any participant be tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid 19) during the advised 14 day period.
Snowsport England continues to monitor the latest government advice concerning recent travel to Northern Italy, including guidance from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Public Health England (PHE). The current advice continues to be that anyone who has recently visited Northern Italy, meaning the area north of Pisa (which includes Bormio), should, if they develop any flu like symptoms, self-isolate for 14 days and call 111 immediately. Please be alert to any emerging symptoms and if in any doubt call 111.

Future travel

Where bookings have been made for overseas travel, the specific Terms and Conditions of these bookings should be referred to should you wish to vary or cancel your booking. In line with travel and insurance industry practice, unless the FCO states that travel to a certain region should be avoided, then the booking Terms & Conditions regarding alteration or cancellation will apply.
For members who are competing at any future overseas ski races or competitions, please consult the race organisers for further information. For members who are booked on Snowsport England courses you will have been contacted directly with an update on the current situation.
Government advice is to continue with planned events and subject to specific localised notifications, cancellations are not currently necessary but we will continually monitor this advice over the coming days / weeks.
