The Special Olympics West Midlands Ski Group is looking for an experienced race coach, who would be able to assist in the training of participants with learning disabilities and advice on their athlete development.

The Special Olympics West Midlands Ski Group coaches people with learning difficulties to compete in slalom and GS at Ackers Adventure, Birmingham.

Training sessions take place on alternative Sundays at 10am-12pm between January and July and September and December. In addition, the ski group holds a training week in Pila and a training weekend at the Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.

The ski group’s current coaching base consists of volunteers, who are trained as Alpine/Adaptive ski instructors.

The West Midlands Ski Group is now seeking an experienced race coach to join their training sessions or visit on an ad-hoc basis to advise on the development athletes and their performance improvement.
